Umm al-Quwain has no international airport. If you fly here on vacation, then land at either Dubai Airport or Sharjah. From Dubai airport go 50 kilometers, from Sharjah Airport about 40 kilometers.
Umm al-Quwain has no public transportation system whatsoever. That is, there are no buses, no minibuses, no trams. But there is a taxi, prices are even cheaper than in Dubai.
There are only 6 hotels here – 4 hotels are classified as 4 stars, and 2 hotels with 3 stars. Not a single “five” there. We have to admit a fact – Umm al-Quwain has the weakest development of the tourism industry among all the UAE emirates.
The tourism industry is stimulated by the free sale of alcohol. Of course, walking around the city while intoxicated is prohibited!
